His background includes an Osteopathic degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by training in Child, Adolescence and Adult Psychiatry at Hofstra-North Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center

Dr. Khaimov is expert in the use of medications and psychotherapy. He is experienced in the diagnoses and treatment of many disorders and conditions in children, adolescents as well as adults, some of which are listed below:

  • Anxiety: panic attacks, phobias: unrealistic fearfulness, nervousness in response to the anticipation of an event that you perceive to be dangerous.
  • Mood Disorders: problems in the intensity and frequency of mood changes - depression, and the bipolar spectrum disorders.
  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD / ADHD): impulsivity, inattention, distractibility.
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: persistent ideas, repetitive rituals that are unproductive
  • Low self-esteem

  • Grief, Bereavement and Prolonged Mourning
  • Adjustment Disorders: time-limited emergence of symptoms in reaction to a real life stressor.

****PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING, REGARDING THE NEW YORK I-STOP (PRESCRIPTION MONITORING PROGRAM DATABASE) LAW:

It is now mandatory that all physicians prescribing controlled substances consult with a state's prescription monitoring program database each time a prescription for a controlled substance is written. Aside from consulting the database and discussing any related issues with one's clients, there are no further legal obligations of any sort. Dr. Khaimov will be legally obligated to consult with this database as above, and, if any issues related to this database come up, he will discuss those issues directly with you.
